On 18th august 2007, in Berlin after 10 hours of battle

Pékin me voilŕ.....!!!

Who was the first person who embraced you after the finish line?

My coach, Christian Roudaut

After that day, how many interviews did you make ?

About ten, I think.

After that day, did you receive invitation in Television ?

No. Maybe it depends on two reasons : First, because I practise an unknown sport, second, because I won in august !

What has changed in your life, and what do you think will change?

Nothing in particular!  I have just drunk a little bit more of champagne !

In the futur it will not change my seriousness in training. Maybe the others will look at me differently

How much did you earn with this victory?

The money for a return ticket to Bretagna, if I find  free time !

What sport did you play before pentathlon ?

I started the pentathlon very young, when I was 9 years old. Before I played just a little bit of swimming. I tried also Judo and dance but not seriousely.

When did you decide definitively for Pentathlon ?

When I was 9 years old. But I didn’t decide by myself, my father made it for me! Thanks daddy !

Your first results ?

I won each French Championship I made. In 1998 I started international competition with the youth B European Championships.

Which are the events you have more difficulties to improve?

The events where I’m very good!! The high level restrict the improving possibility !

3rd in the World Championships 2004 (Szekesfehervar) and 2006 (Shangaď)

How was your form before Berlin?

Physically, I was ready.  Psychologically, relaxed, calm.

How did you compete in the semifinals ?

In the semifinals you have always to fight. I tought to compete in very difficult poules. I started well with the fencing so I was able to relax my self. Physically I finished the semifinals not tired so I was ready for the final.

You started the final with 181 target points. What did you think about this 9th place?

I didn’t know I was 9th. I was just happy about my shooting. It made me euphoric for the fencing.

After your fencing victory (1000pt) you took the 1st overall position.
Did you start to think about the podium?

I knew to be in the first position. But I knew that before the riding nothing is written.

Your 2’12” in the swimming gave you an advantage of over 100 points on the second one.
How did you control your tension?

Easily because I didn't have at all. I don’t feel fear about the good results, I always train to reach them.

I didn’t know the results after swimming so I didn’t know how big was my advantage.

The draw  gave you “the cow”. It was a good steed?

It wasn’t the best one. The riding had been the only negative sport of my wonderful day. I didn’t ride good. 2 of 3 fall down arrived and it was my fault. But a better horse could help me!

At the running you had an advantage of 27 seconds over Schoneborn (Ger). A lot of people thought she could reach you. Did you think the same?

Then I disappointed many people!!! If you think like this you can’t win  anything....I started thinking about me and trying to compete at the best.

How did you lead your running?

I made the first 2 (of 4) laps easily. I knew that Lena would reduce the gap starting fast. So she arrived at the middle of the competition at 10 seconds. I was quiet and I changed rythm in the second half running.

When did you understand Lena couldn’t reach you anymore?

After the 2nd lap.

When the smile appeared on you face?

In the last 200mt....

Would you like to give some advice to the young pentathlete?

Don’t worry, be Happy!!

Thanks a lot for your kindness. Congratulations again for your victory and our best wishes for your future.
