At the World seniors championships in London Adam Marosi, Hun, took individual gold medal. Second place for Svoboda, Cze, silver also in 2008. The bronze medal was for Kirpulyanskyy, Ukr, who passed in last event the Hungarian Nemeth.

Hungary won the team competition. Behind there were Czech Republic and Lituania.  
In the relay competition the gold medal was for the Czech Republic. Silver and bronze ones were for Russia and Egypt.

In the woman competition historical gold medal for Chen, Chn, first Asian girl on the podium at the World senior championships.

Second place for Asadauskaite, winner of the combined event, and bronze medal for the Olympic Champion, the German, Schoneborn.

For the first time in the season out of the podium was Amelie Caze, Fra.

The podium of the team competition was: Germany, Great Britain and Hungary.

In the relay competition was: Czech Republic, Germany and Poland.
