Horvath,Caze and the german team winners in Berlin

Amelie CazeThe ungarian Victor Horvath is at the moment the best pentathlete in the world. After the silver in Guatemala 2006 (also in Millfield 2001), he won before  the European championships and then the World championships.

He was fantastic in every event and took his second olimpic card.

After an exceptional running the russian Frolov arrives behind him, just 2 seconds, 1 second behind there is Nemeth (Hun) who wins the final rush with an incredible Gebhardt (Ger). He is 4th with 5692 points, that  shows the very high level of the competition.

The team and the relay competitions saw the victory of the German team. In the first podium there were also Czech Republic and Hungary, in the relay podium there were China and Czech Republic.

Amelie Caze (Fra) - in the photo - wins the women World championships thanks to a perfect start: 181 in the shooting, 1000 in the fencing and 2’12” in the swimming gives her a very big advantage. She doesn’t have any problems to control it in the riding and running. Only Schoneborn (Ger) tries to reach her but at the end she is second.

Bronze medal for Asadauskaite (Ltu) who makes a beautiful running. The 3 athletes, very young, are at their first podium in a World seniors Championship.

Bielorussia wins in team competition, with the silver for Germany and the bronze for Russia. The podium in the relay competition is Great Britain, Poland and Germany.

Caze and Asadauskaite take olimpic cards for the women. One card goes in the olimpic ranking, because Schoneborn already has.

For the men Horvath and Frolov already have  the card, Nemeth takes it, but there are already 3 hungarian qualified so there are other 3 cards in the olimpic ranking.
You can see that in the area “Special Bejing”.
The following athletes take important points for the olympic ranking - Women: Arkhipenka (Blr), Taormina (Usa), Grolichova (Cze) and Samusevich (Blr). Men: Gebhardt (Ger),  Zadneprovskis (Ltu), Michalik (Cze), Benedetti (Ita) and Walther (Ger).
