The Youth A
European Championships held in Kalmar lasted from 24th to 27th July,
without a rest day for the athletes who competed in individual, combined
and relay competions. Poland, Belarus and Hungary won the most of
avalaible medals.
The individual men
competition has been won by the belarus Pinchuk, silver medal to his team
mate Mihura and the bronze one to the hungarian Biro.
Belarus won also team competition, followed by Russia and Hungary.
Between women Gomolinska (POL) took the first place, Kolhmann ( GER) the
second and Kovacs (HUN), the european junior gold medallist, the third
one.
Hungary won the gold medal in team competition, the silver went to Poland
and the bronze to Germany.
The men combined
event has been won by the french Patte, very strong in the running event,
Mihura took another silver and Pinchuk the bronze.
Once again Belaruss took the gold in team, France the silver and Poland
the bronze.
In the combined event the polish athlete Gomolinska took the second
individual gold of the Championships, followed by the british Rosling and
the french Bartoli.
Italy won the team women competition, the silver medal
went to Poland and the bronze to Germany.
Relay competition
both men and women have been won by Hungary followed by Poland. The bronze
medal went to France in the relay men and to Germany in the relay women.
